Nowadays, people uses FB more than FS (Friendster),  and more people develop their program to suite with FB. Just look at the apps out there, there so many apps that connect to FB. Even there are several mobile java application that connect to FB like Mobile Facebook and Yahoo Go!.

One of them is Facebook Toolbar . If you’re one of the thousands of Facebook users who find themselves constantly signing into and checking your account, this free Firefox add-on is sure to feed your addiction. It offers one-click access to your Facebook account while you browse the Web.

Facebook Toolbar integrate your Facebook life into your browser. Search Facebook from anywhere using the ‘Search Box’ which allows you to easily search Facebook no matter where you are. Select a friend from the dropdown to go directly to their profile, or hit enter to see the search results. Get notified using icons on the toolbar that tells you how many new pokes, friend requests, and messages you have. A pop-up will notify you when your friends update their statuses, write a new note, or interact with you on Facebook.

Connect with Friends by clicking icon to open the Facebook friends sidebar. You can sort your friends by name or status and easily interact with them and their profiles. Share the page that you are currently browsing by sending it to friends or posting it to your profile using ‘search’ button.

Version 1.3 uses JSON for API calls and native JSON object for result parsing, nsIAlertsService for integration with Growl, and includes new preferences dialog.

The aptly named Facebook Toolbar holds a host of buttons and links to keep you in touch with what’s happening on the popular social networking site. It allows you to log in to your account and even change your status. We did find that if you already have the Facebook site open, you’ll need to refresh the page for any changes made from the toolbar to take effect. You’ll also find links that take you to your profile, in-box, photos, and account settings. A button on the toolbar activates the sidebar so you can keep tabs on your Facebook friends, while the Share button lets you easily share a Web page with them while you’re browsing. The search feature, like the rest of the toolbar, is only for Facebook, and you won’t find any of the typical extras like weather information or e-mail notification.

That’s really our only complaint with this free toolbar: the lack of customization options. There’s a lot of wasted space that could be put to good use, even if it’s not Facebook related. But no matter; the one-click access to Facebook overshadows any negatives. And the ability to browse while keeping an eye on your Facebook account means that you might actually get some work done.
